Bridget Baker

Bridget Baker is originally from Titusville, Pennsylvania, but has lived in Greenville, North Carolina for the past four years. She is not yet sure of her major, but plans to study a STEM-related subject. She enjoys reading, watching YouTube, and doing puzzles, and has a special interest in geography. Kaelyn Brock

Kaelyn is from Peachland, a small town east of Charlotte. She is a freshman at UNC currently majoring in nursing. Her family is an important part of her life as she is an aunt to five children. Kaelyn grew up playing soccer and volleyball and still loves to do so in her free time. Her nickname that she received at six months old is Sassy. See Kaelyn’s work in this course.

Noah Bryant-Hooper

Noah is a sophomore transfer student from Randolph College in Lynchburg, VA. He is originally from Charlotte, NC and is majoring in political science with the intention of applying to the school of media and journalism to double major. He enjoys working out, playing disc golf, and spending quality time with family. See Noah’s work in this course.

Caroline Carpenter

Originally from Vienna, VA, Caroline is a first-year undergraduate student at the University of North Carolina. Caroline is studying business administration and has hopes to be admitted into the Kenan Flagler School of Business her sophomore year. In her free time, Caroline enjoys playing sports such as field hockey and lacrosse, spending time with friends and family, and making new friends. See Caroline’s work in this course.

Kyle Chan

Kyle is a first-year undergraduate student intending to major in biostatistics. He is from Cary, NC but has lived in three different countries. His experience with academic writing prior to college includes writing research manuscripts and literature reviews. Kyle received Honorable Mention in the Scholastic Arts and Writing Award for the Critical Essay Category in 2022 and is currently helping facilitate the 2022 Teens Write Across America Marathon. In his free time, Kyle enjoys playing musical instruments, watching Chinese dramas, and reading. See Kyle’s work in this course.

Madison Corgan

Madison Corgan is a sophomore transfer student from the University of South Carolina, now attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying media and journalism. She is from Clinton, Connecticut, a small shoreline beach town. In high school, she wrote for The Morgan PawPrint, her high school newspaper, and co-edited her high school yearbook. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, painting, and hiking. In the future, she hopes to write for a fashion magazine. See Madison’s work in this course.

Meredith King

Meredith is a junior transfer coming from Georgetown University from Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. She is majoring in business and working in investment banking next summer. In her free time she likes to cook, run, and spend time outside. See Meredith’s work in this course.

Julie Milano

Originally from Matawan, NJ, Julie is a junior transfer student studying chemistry. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with friends and exploring Chapel Hill. She looks forward to a fun semester with lots of new and exciting experiences. See Julie’s work in this course.

Abigail Montes de Oca

Originally from Winston Salem, NC, Abigail is a freshman at the University of North Carolina studying biology (BS). She hopes to pursue a career on the pre-med track. In her free time, Abigail enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching tv, and interior decorating. See Abigail’s work in this course.

Stella Moorman

From Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Stella is a first-year student at UNC. Though she is currently undecided, she’s thinking about pursuing library and information science or computer science as possible majors. Originally from Charlotte, NC, Lauren is a first-year undergraduate student at the University of North Carolina. Lauren is studying business and has hopes to be admitted into the Kenan Flagler School of Business her sophomore year. Ava Moss

From Hendersonville, North Carolina, Ava is a first-year undergraduate student at UNC. She is currently undeclared but plans to explore the many fields of business and/or media and journalism. In her free time, Ava enjoys going out to eat with friends, exploring the outdoors, and relaxing with a good book or TV show. See Ava’s work in this course.

Neill Mottes

Neill is a first-year econ student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Neill would like to get a Master’s in city planning and eventually become a city planner. He enjoys basketball, snowboarding, and hiking. See Neill’s work in this course.

Joelle Moy

Originally from Charlotte, NC, Joelle is a first-year undergraduate student with the intention of applying to the joint biomedical engineering program between UNC and NC State. She uses she/her pronouns and also goes by Jojo. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, spending quality time with friends, sleeping, going out to eat, and playing games. Her favorite things are sushi; animals, particularly pandas; the beach; light shades of blue and purple; boba; and pretty skies. Jojo hopes to one day pursue a career working with prosthetics. Riley Parks

Born and raised in Kernersville, North Carolina, Riley is a freshman at UNC majoring in biology (BA). Riley hopes to pursue the pre-med route and continuing his school at med schools such as UNC or WFU. He enjoys playing soccer, watching moves and spending quality time with close friends. Jonah Prober

Jonah, a first-year mathematics major, hails from Northbrook, Illinois. He intends to follow the pre-med track and attend medical school upon completion of his undergraduate degree. When he isn’t studying, Jonah enjoys playing the trumpet, biking, and cooking. See Jonah’s work in this course.

Pranav Reddy

Pranav Reddy is currently a UNC freshman intending to major in computer science. He hopes to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in pursuit of landing a job with a well-known tech company. Rishabh Vemuri

Rishabh Sharma Vemuri is a first-year undergraduate student intending to major in business and computer science with an intended minor in philosophy, politics, and economics. Rishabh Sharma is on the pre-law track, and he is interested in exploring more of the legal field at the intersection of business and computer science. He enjoys filmmaking and playing tennis. Alanna Zhang

Alanna is an out-of-state first-year from Ohio studying computer science. In academics, she heavily leans toward STEM but also enjoys playing violin and making origami. In her free time, Alanna hikes, doodles, and listens to music. Her hope for college is to do something that her high school self would never have expected was possible for herself.
