Jerrod Duell

Born and raised in southeastern North Carolina, Jerrod is a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, majoring in economics and management and society. He also operates a property management and real estate business in Sneads Ferry, North Carolina while attending the university. On Sundays, he enjoys fellowshipping with the local community and volunteering at the community center. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, scuba diving, and reading. His aspirations are to work for a non-profit such as the National Peace Corp Association. See Jerrod’s work in this course.

Emily Humes

Emily Humes from Raleigh, North Carolina is attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for environmental science. She is also minoring in law and hopes to attend law school in the future. She was a competitive dancer for sixteen years and a gold scout gold metal recipient. Emily is also a published writer with her research paper about the effect of trains on paranormal activity. In her free time, Emily enjoys reading books and taking walks outdoors. Jack Hussey

Jack Hussey is a first-year student at UNC studying economics. Originally from Baltimore, MD, he most recently lived in Charlotte, NC and graduated from Charlotte Catholic High School. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports and hanging out with his friends and family. In the future, his dream is to work in an MLB or NFL front office as a team president or general manager. Erin Huter

Originally from outside of Brevard, NC, Erin is in her first year at UNC as a linguistics major. Her tentative plan is to apply for the speech and hearing sciences minor to pursue a career in speech pathology. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking with her dog, and hanging out with friends. See Erin’s work in this course.

Koen Ifill

Koen Ifill is a first year at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Currently, he is an undecided major but has an interest in history and science. In his free time, Koen enjoys swimming, walking his dog, reading, or listing to music. See Koen’s work in this course.

Oviya Ilangovan

Originally from Cary, NC, Oviya is a first-year student at UNC majoring in biology. In her free time, she enjoys playing the piano and any instrument she can pick up and play, listening to music, playing tennis and badminton, and going horseback riding. Katelyn Iudica is a first-year undergraduate pre-medicine student studying biology. She is from Holly Springs, North Carolina and loves to sing, dance, and spend time with her friends and family. Owen Jackson

Originally from Portland, OR, Owen is a freshman studying pre-business at the University of North Carolina. He plays intramural basketball and hopes to join a couple clubs he enjoys. Aashvi Jain

Aashvi is a first-year student originally from Cary, North Carolina. She is planning to study computer science with a minor in business and wants to stay on the pre-dental track. She enjoys dancing, traveling, watching movies, and listening to music (pop, kpop, k-rnb, k-rap). She hopes to improve her ability to writing fluidly through this course. Ethan Keus

Formerly from San Fransisco, Californian, Ethan is a first-year student studying business administration. He enjoys activities such as basketball, football, and running in his free time. He wishes to ultimately go to law school and become a real estate lawyer. See Ethan’s work in this course.

Yuzhe Liu

Yuzhe is from Shandong, China, a province that lies on the east coast of China. He currently majors in statistics. Violin and math modeling is his field of interest, and the absoluteness of numbers and abstract music have resulted in his mixed personality. See Yuzhe’s work in this course.

Veronica Lizardo

Originally from Asheboro, NC, Veronica is a first year at UNC Chapel Hill and is majoring in psychology. Her plan is to hopefully one day become a therapist. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, painting, hanging out with her friends, and spending time with her family. See Veronica’s work in this course.

Hannah Richman

Hannah Richman is a drama major from Raleigh, North Carolina. She is ecstatic to be involved with UNC productions! In her free time, Hannah loves reading plays, dancing, and hanging out with her friends. See Hannah’s work in this course.

Leena Rumora

Born and raised in Wilmington NC, Leena Rumora is currently attending the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in hopes to become one step closer to achieving her dreams of becoming a physician’s assistant. Some of her hobbies include hanging out with friends, baking, tanning, and playing soccer. She is also very family oriented and loves to hang out with her family whether it’s playing cards by the fire or watching a movie. AJ Schlemmer

Born in Richmond, VA, and raised in Charlotte, NC, AJ is a first-year student who hopes to major in biostatistics. AJ took two years of AP English in high school. Outside of his studies, AJ is a member of the UNC Marching Tar Heels and is a freelance sports broadcaster. See AJ’s work in this course.

Abby Spellings

Originally from Waxhaw, North Carolina, Abby is a sophomore transfer student studying exercise science. She played a year of college soccer at Presbyterian College where she had a career ending injury that eventually led her to transfer to her dream school at UNC Chapel Hill. She enjoys going to fun restaurants and workout classes with her friends. She hopes to become a physical therapist to specialize in sports medicine. See Abby’s work in this course.

Sreya Vaddireddy

Originally from Charlotte, NC, Sreya is a first-year student at UNC majoring in neuroscience. She hopes to attend medical school to be a neurosurgeon in the future. In her free time, Sreya enjoys listening to music, watching movies, and hanging out with friends. See Sreya’s work in this course.

Maggie Verstrat

Originally from Garner, NC, Maggie is a first-year student studying environmental health sciences. She spends her free time reading, playing tennis and soccer, and traveling with her family and friends. She is excited to get more involved at UNC Chapel Hill through clubs and campus activities.
