This week was rather short as the majority of us all left Tuesday for thanksgiving break. However with that time that we did have on Tuesday we peer edited the “rough cut” for our video essays which will be the final assignment for this course. I particularly struggled quite a bit with using the software as adobe premiere pro was extremely new to me. Nevertheless I managed to conjure up something that I could build off of during the break.

All my other classes scheduled for Monday and Tuesday before the long break had been canceled, which I very much enjoyed. I spent my time off in excitement for the break to begin. I drove back to my home which is located in Kernersville, North Carolina, a rather small town which probably one out of the thousand people I’ve talked to here on campus have actually been to. Nevertheless once I got home it was amazing to get to spend time with my parents as well as my little sister whom I couldn’t wait to catch up with. Sure spending time on the phone talking about my college experiences is great but nothing beats in person interactions with the people you love most!

On Wednesday night we traveled to Virginia to spend the night with my grandmother who has been in and out of the hospital but has finally reached good health and has returned to her home. We spent the night talking about my first few months in college and my sister’s time as a sophomore in high school. The evening was rather uneventful but the following day was filled with Thanksgiving festivities. We had our Thanksgiving meal quite early compared to most and started to dig in around twelve thirty. From Turkey, mash potatoes, corn, stuffing and so much more I absolutely ate more than I needed to. I will say I think Thanksgiving food is a little overrated, I mean seriously when do you crave that style of food other than the actual Holiday. Maybe it’s just a me thing but hey “food for thought” if you will.

Friday had so much promise and oh did it disappoint. I was super excited to see all my close friends from High School (the majority of which attend NC State) and talk trash about state football. I did in fact eat my words when we narrowly lost in overtime to the Wolfpack. To compound the damage nearly five minutes later I witnessed our number one ranked basketball team lose to Indiana. Caleb Grill put on an absolute clinic against us and I honestly was at a loss for words and had nothing to say to my friends who were now jumping up and down at UNC’s decline in form. To add to the damage we somehow managed to lose to Alabama and the Crimson Tide on Sunday night which really solidified the “BWTBATH” (bad week to be a tar heel) statement.

With finals approaching it’s time to snap back into learning mode. Studying for all the exams that are approaching will definitely be stress inducing, but I advise everyone to take a moment to breathe and remember you’re smart enough to succeed on these exams!
