This website is currently under construction, but we are out flying all the time!
The Carolina Drone Lab (CARDNL) serves as a collaborative space and knowledge hub that facilitates the innovative use of drones and sensors to solve environmental and societal challenges. CARDNL is a continuously-evolving resource for collaborators both in the UNC community and beyond.
CARDNL specializes in:
Shared Resources including drones, sensors, survey equipment, software, and data visualization.
Training and Support for regulatory compliance, flight ops, and data processing.
Collaborative and Innovative Research.
We maintain a series of unoccupied aerial vehicles (UAVs), sensors, geospatial data collection tools, and field gear to equip researchers with the tools to create data-driven projects on their own terms. In addition to equipment, CARDNL maintains a schedule of workshops, technical support, and on-demand training opportunities. Collaborators have the opportunity to take advantage of the CARDNL equipment library and are able to rent gear free of charge once approved.
We would love to discuss your project needs and are actively providing training and field courses.
