Playing for Resilience

The Climate Change-Enhanced Disaster Resilience Building Game

Climatopia™ is not just a game.

The heart of the mission behind Climatopia™ is to build more resilient communities

through teaching strategies and offering resources to help with water-related natural disasters.

Developed through close collaboration with more than 60 students and partners since 2020,

the final game design can be made at home with a 1-yard Spoonflower order and resources and files at this website.

Co-Founders Sydney Thomas, Alex Pistiolis, and Intern Karla Cordova presented with Dr. Rachel Willis

the purpose and initial fabric design at the Carolinas Climate Resilience Conference in May 2021.

The presentation’s slides show the roots and purpose of the game: Climatopia™ Presentation
