Meet Your 2024 Board
This board is leaping all in and are on track to leave a lasting impression on UNC SLA. They have a growth mindset that is sure to he They’re top goals include expanding SLA’s reach, building connections, and fostering community. The 2024 board would like to share the full range of opportunities a library information degree has to offer with the UNC student body.

Erica Freed, has a bachelor’s degree in English and Political Science from the University of South Carolina. Erica is interested in prioritizing accessibility in digital spaces for educational purposes, and in creating safe, interesting, non-commercial websites. She currently works for the Jane Austen Summer Program developing the database for Jane Austen’s Desk and is committed to providing a safe and fun experience for all SLA members.

Kennedy-Grace Pierce, (she/her/he/him) is a first-year MSLS student serving as the Vice President of UNC’s SLA chapter. She works as a graduate assistant for UNC Libraries Repository Services, a research assistant for SILS, and bartender at Steel String Craft Brewery. He is passionate about providing access and resource services through library and information spaces, and collaborative community creation/maintenance of third spaces. Kennedy-Grace aims to assist in fostering community collaboration efforts through UNC’s SLA chapter!

M Roberts (they/them) is the Treasurer of UNC’s SLA chapter. They are a first-year MSLS student and currently work in the Box Office at Carolina Performing Arts on UNC’s campus. They are particularly interested in the intersections of libraries and communications, and previously worked in comms for six years before returning to academia for graduate school. When not studying, M can often be found reading, cross-stitching, or spending time with friends and family.
