Attending music events with ease
In late October 2023, the department was proud to begin a partnership with Tix to sell concert tickets online. This transition has made attendance to music events easier than ever! We hope to see you at a concert soon!
Purchasing Tickets
Where can I purchase tickets online?
Online purchases for performances can be purchased via Tix. All events listed on our website will also have this page linked directly to each event.
If the event you are attending is in Memorial Hall, tickets can be purchased through the Memorial Hall Box Office over the phone at 919.843.3333 or by email at carolinaperformingarts@unc.edu.
Can I still buy a ticket in person?
Yes! Unless a concert is sold out online the box office will open 30 minutes prior to the showtime for each concert.
Can I purchase a ticket over the phone?
No, unfortunately, we cannot sell tickets over the phone.
I’m a current music student. Will I have to pay for my ticket? Aren’t they free for music students?
If you are a current UNC Music student you will not have to purchase your ticket. When you visit Tix to reserve your ticket, please enter your valid UNC PID number in the Promo Code box on the Payment Information page. This will discount the entire cost of one ticket per event.
Attending the Event
I purchased my ticket online. How do I show it at the door to get in?
Your ticket will be sent to you via email. Please bring a printout of the ticket or be ready to display the ticket on your mobile device.
This is my first time attending a music department event. Where can I find the performance venues?
The music department operates in three buildings on UNC’s north campus: Hill Hall, Kenan Music Building, and Person Hall. Visit our Venues page for more details on our performance spaces and how to find them.
Where should I park?
Parking is available after 5:00 pm in Swain Lot, next to Hill Hall and Kenan Music Buildings on a first-come, first-serve basis. On weeknights, there is a $1/day charge for parking in this lot. This lot can be accessed from Cameron Avenue. There are also numerous paid lots and parking decks on Franklin Street and Rosemary Street within a 1-2 block walk of the music department buildings.
For more information on parking, please visit our Parking & Directions page.
