About Us

The Scoopula was created by students from the Dempsey group in the Chemistry Department at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Mission Statement: Our mission is to increase the accessibility of general advice, guidance and resources for pursuing graduate school in chemistry. In doing so, we hope to codify informal advice typically passed down through mentor-mentee relationships on a formal platform and break down barriers for those looking to pursue graduate school, thereby increasing accessibility and diversity within the chemical field.
