Strides for STEM 5K

The 2024 Strides for STEM 5K is on June 22, 2024!

You can still sign up to Volunteer!

Welcome to the Strides for STEM 5K, the premier run/walk event supporting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) outreach and community building in the Research Triangle.

Formerly known as NC DNA Day 5K, this event has a proud history of supporting STEM education and outreach in North Carolina. Funds raised from this event will support STEM outreach programs, including North Carolina DNA Day and the WinSPIRE Research Program. These programs aim to break down barriers surrounding STEM-based careers by allowing high school students to directly interact with STEM professionals from leading research institutions in North Carolina.

Mark your calendars for June 22, 2024, for our second annual Strides for STEM 5K. Historically, this event has been hosted by NC DNA Day, but since last year, our outreach support has grown to include the WinSPIRE program. With this comes an opportunity for a bigger, better event!

Strides for STEM aims to unite STEM groups throughout the NC Research Triangle and beyond to promote community, outreach, and inclusivity for all STEM fields. By supporting STEM education and outreach, we can create a more vibrant and diverse community of STEM professionals in the Research Triangle and beyond.

Whether you are a seasoned runner, a novice walker, or just looking for a fun family activity, we invite you to join us for Strides for STEM 5K. Let’s step forward together to support STEM outreach and community building in the Research Triangle!
