What is The Carolina Green Office (GO) Program?

The Carolina Green Office Program (GO) is a fun and simple way for Carolina staff to learn how to transform their offices into a more sustainable working environment. 

GO is Sustainable Carolina’s integrated approach to increase staff involvement in campus sustainability. By joining this program, your office demonstrates support for Sustainable Carolina’s goals of zero waste to landfills, net zero greenhouse gas emissions, and net zero water use as well as improving workplace wellness and equity. 

GO Teams are a great way to get involved with the planning and implementation of sustainability initiatives in your office. From hosting events and trainings to monitoring water leaks and inventorying office supplies, GO offers plenty of chances to do what interests you and address problems specific to your office.

How Does it Work?

  • Meet as a GO Team regularly, 
  • Support the GO Coordinator in completing Modules by working on tasks and developing programs,  
  • Submit your progress after completing each Module in order to earn certifications, and
  • See your office grow from a Seed Certification to a Tree Certification!

What Are the Benefits?

There are many benefits to joining your office’s GO Team beyond receiving an invitation to our annual recognition event. It’s a great way to take on a leadership role in your office, build new skills related to outreach, project management, and community-based social marketing, and to meet like-minded individuals in your office and across the university. Together we can create an environment that we are even more proud to be a part of!
