About this project
“Climate Letters” is produced by students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) and the University of Navarra (UNAV) in Pamplona, Spain with a grant from UNC’s Collaborative Online International Learning initiative. The purpose of the COIL program is to “connect faculty and students from across the world through shared learning experiences and global, cross-institutional collaboration.” Students from UNC’s Hussman School of Journalism and Media and UNAV’s School of Communication met for four Zoom sessions in Fall of 2021 to coordinate their reporting on the impacts of climate change in the state of North Carolina in the U.S. and the autonomous region of Navarra in Spain. Professors Tom Linden and Bienvenido León directed the projects with the Climate Letters website designed and produced by Noel Castro Fernández, a second-year master’s student at UNC on a Fulbright Scholarship.
