The mentorship sub-committee of the Administrative Managers Advisory Council was established in December 2021.

Our Charge

Create a network of volunteers to be available to serve as mentors, either alone or in teams, to managers who are either new to the College, new to their department manager role, or would benefit from further assistance with processes in the College, university, or with Carolina systems.

The Challenge

To provide operational and professional support to new and existing managers who request or would benefit from a relationship with a mentor within the College of Arts and Sciences at UNC-CH. Mentorship for the purposes of this program is defined as a form of peer support provided among business managers with similar duties. When participating in the mentorship program it is imperative that both sides understand the confidential nature of a mentoring relationship.

Considerations

Managers operate differently based upon their division or type of department they serve, as well as whether or not they are under the umbrella of the accounting team in the financial shared services.
