Sarah Lebu is a PhD student in the Environmental Science and Engineering Program at UNC-Chapel Hill. Affiliated with UNC’s Water Institute, she is co-advised with Water Institute Director Aaron Salzberg. In the past, her work has focused on on-site sanitation systems, models of shared sanitation and city-wide sanitation planning in urban Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda. Her PhD research work will explore how utilities and communities in informal settlements in LMICs can adapt and manage their water and sanitation services in response to climate change. Sarah received her MPH in Global Health and Environment, and a Master in City Planning from the University of California, Berkeley.
