Erin is a PhD student in Environmental Science and Engineering at the Gillings School of Global Public Health, with research interests in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene for global health. She received her B.S in Environmental Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she conducted laboratory research for the NOURISH study, performing DNA/RNA extractions to detect enteric pathogens and antimicrobial gene targets. During her time at Georgia Tech and post-graduation, she worked on developing a sensor to detect microplastics in water with her capstone design team. Erin’s graduate research involves the Maputo Sanitation trial.
