360° Learning Experience

Teachers choose two or more 360° images and/or videos that have a similar focus. Next, students spend time analyzing the similarities and differences of the images/videos. Students then complete a Venn diagram or T-chart to organize their analysis of the images/videos and share their responses in small groups. Teachers can do this activity as a warmup for a larger unit of study or for texts to be read.

Common Core State Standard: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.CCRA.R.9

Analyze how two or more texts address similar themes or topics in order to build knowledge or to compare the approaches the authors take.

Recommended 360° Content

The two 360° videos are of nature paths, one paved and the other in the woods. Teachers can have students view the two videos and complete a Venn diagram where they compare characteristics of the paths against each other. For example, the paved path includes a permanent walkway, bridge, and picnic table. The path in the forest is more secluded and is deeper in the nature, without any permanent walkway or picnic table. Lastly, both paths include trees, nature, and lots of greenery. Once finished, students can compare their Venn diagram with each other.
