About me:
I am an assistant professor in the Department of Statistics and Operations Research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to joining UNC, I was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Lehigh University working with Frank E. Curtis. I completed my PhD in Computer Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I was advised by Stephen J. Wright.
My research interests lie in the design and theory of continuous nonlinear optimization algorithms, with a particular focus on worst-case complexity results. Recently, my focus has shifted to the study of stochastic optimization algorithms for large scale machine learning and data science problems.
