John Shusko
John is a second-year student in the Global Health concentration at the Gillings School of Global Public Health where he is an MPH Candidate. His undergraduate degree in International Studies was fueled by his life living overseas where he spent most of his childhood. He witnessed many different factors and cultures that all come together to shape health and recognizes the importance of the field, particularly with the rise of COVID-19 into daily life. He is particularly interested in the relationship between HIV and other viruses such as COVID-19 on public health both globally and domestically. With his undergraduate degree, he also recognizes the unique relationship between global health and international affairs and the importance of both to foster public health globally. He enjoys spending time outdoors and exploring new restaurants in his free time.
