Jackie Nguyen
Jackqueline (Jackie) Nguyen is a third-year undergraduate student working towards a BS in Biology and a BA in Public Policy with a minor in chemistry. She is passionate about amplifying forgotten voices disproportionately impacted by environmental contamination. She has previous research experience in various areas, including novel methods to improve solar energy storage and evaluating provider network transparency and quality in relation to mental health conditions. Since then, she has shifted her focus to investigate the effects of atmospheric pollutants on pulmonary diseases, identify critical determinants of shared sanitation in underserved communities, and analyze issues related to on-site sanitation systems. She hopes to apply her passions in public policy, biology, and environmental health to novel sanitation treatment methods and pursue graduate school following her undergraduate studies.
