Opportunities

We are taking research rotations for interested graduate students. A new project area is screening for small molecule inhibitors to chorismate mutase (CM). Computational screening of a large small molecule library has been completed, and top hits from this screen will be experimentally validated. Screening will be conducted by NMR or additional methods for detecting binding. Validated binders will be useful as tools in the CM project or they may serve as a basis to further optimize inhibitor affinity.

Other rotation projects are available within the CM and thymidylate synthase (TS) systems for studying functional dynamics of allosteric enzymes using protein NMR.

The Lee lab can accept graduate students in the Biological & Biomedical Sciences Program (BBSP) and in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (CBMC Division).
