Projects
NSF Project
The NSF-funded project examines how STEM language in parent-child interactions, gender differences, and family science capital affect children’s science inquiry. The goal is to develop interventions that enhance daily scientific conversations and boost underrepresented groups in STEM.
Reach Every Reader
The Reach Every Reader project, supported by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, developed the R.E.A.D.Y. Early Literacy App in collaboration with Harvard and MIT. The app uses AI to enhance parent-child book reading, boosting engagement by 67% and literacy by 32%.
BEE Project
Our project with the BEE Lab at UNC Chapel Hill explores how parental language input impacts brain development and language outcomes in young children. Using neuroimaging and LENA technology, we study socioeconomic disparities in language acquisition to inform targeted interventions.
