Training and Certification in Dementia Care

Invited assisted living communities are taking part in a research study. The study is funded by the National Institute on Aging, and being run by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It is evaluating two Alzheimer’s Association® dementia care training programs and how they change care and staff and resident wellbeing. If your community is involved, read on for more information.

What’s Involved?

We are reaching out to family members at participating assisted living communities to learn about your family member’s care needs. If you are eligible to participate, our team will interview you by telephone 3 times – once at the beginning of the study, 3-months later, and 6-months later. Each interview will last 20 minutes.

We will call invited family members within a week of receiving the invitation to answer any questions about the study.
