DECIDERS

Our Bioethics supplement study design was developed in partnership with the DECIDERS (Deliberative Engagement of Community Members About Resource Spending) Steering Committee, a long-standing network of community partners from minority and underserved communities. In community-academic partnership with University of Michigan, the DECIDERS group deliberates priorities for limited health resources and fair resource allocation. One DECIDERS member is Susie Williamson, a Community Health Educator with Spectrum Health based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a community leader in the local Michigan community, Susie’s perspectives are vital to how we conduct our study. She is an important member of all of our research team meetings and also acts as a facilitator in our focus group discussions.
