SafeEats Introduction
SafeEats is an application that serves to make eating out or ordering in more accessible for customers with food allergies by filtering menu items accordingly.
Today, food allergies are on a rise around the world. Yet, people with food allergies still have a hard time eating out, as they can have serious reactions when consuming dishes containing or contaminated with allergens. When looking for menu items that they are able to eat, restaurants do not always have all the ingredients specified. Furthermore, even when ingredients are listed, it can be hard and time-consuming to go through in person or online.
SafeEats is an application that aims to address this problem. Users will be able to make profiles for themselves and/or loved ones to specify their food allergies, dietary restrictions, and preferences. The application then uses that information to parse through restaurant menu items, identifying items that meet their specifications. With SafeEats, eating out will be made easier and safer for all people.
