Based on our investigation and research about Urban Heat Islands, we created a list of mitigation techniques and policy recommendations for the University to implement and to keep in mind during future developments. Mitigation of the UHI needs to be proactive to improve campus life experience, prevent public health consequences, and keep energy use down. Each of these techniques has its own advantages and disadvantages, and some may be more feasible or cost-effective for the University to implement. It is not a one size fits all; rather each recommendation should be tailored for the specific needs and capacities of the University.
