Graduate students

The Seim lab is seeking a graduate student to participate in a newly funded NSF project “The influence of different nutrient delivery modes on functional biodiversity of marine plankton in a changing ocean”.  The student will participate in this study that combines ocean physics and marine biology to understand controls on biodiversity.  The project will involve field work in the Galapagos archipelago, and the student will assist in preparing, deploying and analyzing data from a mooring hosting a Wirewalker, an instrument package that moves up and down over the upper 300 m of the ocean to collect a time history of ocean conditions.

Undergraduate students

The Seim Lab is seeking undergraduate students to participate in the following projects:

  1. North Atlantic Dynamics project. We envision a student assisting in developing a public-facing website that displays information on Gulf Stream properties in near real-time.   Some experience with data analysis and website development is preferred.

Please contact Dr. Seim if interested.
