Silvio Vitiello (Unicamp) Kinetic energies of 3He-4He mixtures The mixture 3He-4He is investigated in an attempt to understand discrepancies between experimental [1] and theoretical [2] values still remaining regarding the kinetic energy of the 3He component. Calculations by the variational path-integral Monte Carlo method, that we prefer to call density matrix projection method, are made at zero temperature and both components are treated employing quantum statistics. Improvements are observed, nevertheless, systems formed from 3He-4He atoms continue to offer challenges for its theoretical understanding. Work in collaboration with Sebastian Ujevic, V.
