Your genome is made of DNA – its part of the central dogma. We’ve found that a major pathway for repair of breaks in your DNA genome, Nonhomologous end joining (NHEJ), frequently incorporates RNA before repair is complete. Why? How do you safely get back to a purely DNA genome?  Adam and Kishore are working on this project.

Kinetics of insertion and deletion during CRISPR/genome editing at PIGA in MEFs without and with the RNA-using TDT polymerase. Incorporation of RNA by TDT dramatically alters both the rate and spectrum of genome editing.
