Hi! My name is Anna Van and I am a junior from Kinston, North Carolina. I am double majoring in Psychology (B.S.) and Communication Studies with a concentration in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication. After graduation, I plan on taking a gap year to work and then I will apply to graduate schools for Industrial-Organizational Psychology. I became interested in psychology because I wanted to learn more about human behavior, particularly human connection. I decided to also major in communication because it has a strong overlap with psychology and it has helped me understand effective forms of communication in all types of settings. I was an undergraduate research assistant in the Peer Relations Lab. I am currently an Employer Relations Intern at UNC University Career Services, where I manage several projects that align with my interest in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. I am a member of Phi Sigma Pi, which is a gender-inclusive national honor fraternity. I am also actively involved in the Vietnamese Student Association and Asian American Student Association. In my free time, I enjoy trying new restaurants, getting boba with friends, reading, listening to music, and going on walks. I love meeting new people, so please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or just want to talk!
