Hello! My name is Nate Orecchio, and I’m an aspiring Ed Tech-Preneur. I’m originally from Fishers, Indiana. I spent almost 20 years in Fishers before deciding to move to the booming Research Triangle to take advantage of the emerging opportunities in ed tech. My mom, dad, sister, and nine month old nephew are still in Fishers, but I think I’ve successfully convinced them to make the move south.
Interests and Hobbies
When I’m not doing school work, I participate in a variety of different activities. I love soccer, both watching and playing. My favorite team is Manchester City, and my favorite player is Kevin De Bruyne. I play on an indoor and outdoor soccer team with some friends as well.
Outside of soccer, I also love traveling and going on adventures. This ranges from just trying a new coffee shop, or taking a backpacking trip to Virginia (even though none of us had ever backpacked). Below is a picture of one of many amazing views we woke up to on this trip.
For more relaxed and down times, I really enjoy watching anime, Attack on Titan is probably my favorite, and reading. I also do a fair bit of writing, both individually and with my friend. We both have aspirations to be published one day, so we have writing, editing, and collaboration sessions frequently.
Lastly, love learning new things and exploring new concepts. Currently, I’m really intrigued by the future of Quantum Computing and it’s potential.

Career Aspirations
I have a lot of aspirations, and I would love to diversify my experience. I have a lot of app ideas that I would like to build and release, I have aspirations to be a published author, I have aspirations to design and develop my own video game. However, above all, I have aspirations to develop a Computer Science Tutoring software and a Role Playing Game (RPG) for K-12 classrooms. To achieve this, I want to work in the Ed Tech industry as a software developer ideally for a company that works to create high quality and affordable technology for K-12 populations.
Lastly, I would like to help reform education policy. I would love to work on the committees and bodies that decide curriculum standards for K-12 schools across the U.S., ideally in the realm of Computer Science.
