Our Research

We are a collaborative research group based at UNC Chapel Hill School of Social Work and partner with researchers and students at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and the Department of Psychiatry at the UNC School of Medicine. We have additional affiliates at Virginia Commonwealth University, University of Missouri, and the University of Utah.

Our research focuses on intervention and implementation research at the interface of complex systems, such as the behavioral health and the criminal legal systems. We primarily conduct research on mental health programs within criminal justice settings, assess intervention effectiveness, and develop strategies to enhance the implementation and fidelity. We use study results to inform real-world decisions at the local and state level.
