College Affordability

Depending of various factors, 2 out of 5 low income students will successfully finish college with a degree.

When comparing low-income families to stable-income families, there is a significant difference in their confidence regarding supporting their students in college. Low-income families face greater financial barriers and higher debt burdens, while stable-income families generally find it easier to manage educational costs.

College is a significant investment. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill recognizes the challenges that come with this expense and has developed a solution for students from low-income families. I spoke with a specialist from Carolina who herself came from a low-income background, and she shared how the Carolina Covenant program has positively impacted her life.
