This project was conducted as part of the EDUC 761 course at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The aim was to develop a solution for a wicked problem. Our group opted to address the issue of educators lacking the time for self-compassion. To investigate this problem, we administered surveys to assess educators’ understanding of self-compassion, their current usage, and their willingness to integrate self-compassion into their daily routine. Our findings indicated a strong desire among educators to practice self-compassion.
Based on these results, we developed a prototype app named “Coffee with Compassion.” This application is designed to provide educators with a platform to learn about self-compassion, practice various techniques, and understand the reasoning behind the research. We invite you to examine our prototype and also visit our website at your convenience.
