I am Julia Drennan, a behavioral ecologist currently completing her Ph.D. in Ecology, Evolution, & Organismal Biology (EEOB) at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill in Karin Pfennig’s lab. I recently graduated with a B.S. in Biology & Psychology from the College of William & Mary.
My main research interests are animal communication and species recognition. Specifically, I want to investigate how these can serve to maintain or erode species boundaries in hybridizing natural populations. I use laboratory and field techniques to answer these questions in anurans, namely cricket frogs and spadefoot toads.
