For the Association of Legal Administrators, I created a series of online, asynchronous modules to introduce operations management to law firm administrative professionals. The course uses a frame story throughout to provide narrative interest and help the learner identify with the material. It requires learners to create their own plans for improving their workplaces and submit them. This course, Law Firm Management Essentials: Operations Management, sold 50% better and generated 70% more revenue than the next best-selling e-Learning course.
The sample provided below is the last module from this course. Its topics are project management, matter management, and process improvement.
This project is an example of the define stage of Design Thinking. Creating this material required me to establish personas for both law firm administrators and executives. Since I lacked experience at a law firm, listening and empathizing were required to create reasonable characters for these audiences.
