I conducted an accessibility review of online training modules and brought the training into compliance. For the same course, I developed Canvas Badges and plans to implement them.

I worked closely with the IT staff of the School of Education to assist faculty, students, and staff with their information technology needs. I fielded incoming requests, developed an on-boarding course for future graduate assistants, and assisted the School of Education staff, faculty, and students with a wide variety of software packages and IT services.

I proposed and facilitated three skills trainings each semester for Buckley Public Service Scholars (BPSS) participants. Topics include video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro, foundations of literacy tutoring, and working with subject matter experts. I led the production of customer-facing educational materials for software feature releases. I scripted, filmed, and edited a library of videos for software product education. The videos were published on YouTube, Vimeo, and embedded into Zendesk support articles. I also developed the curriculum and content for two instructor-led software product education courses for customers and staff.

I planned, scheduled, and delivered learning programs for the membership. I designed and developed interactive e-learning courses using Articulate Storyline 3. Training & Development Specialist

I designed and taught beginning and intermediate product training courses for organization staff. I created the educational content for a partner certification program. I scripted, filmed, edited, and produced software product education courses for customers. I created these materials using a variety of media: interactive stories with Twine, animated Vyond explainers, and SCORM-compliant materials with Camtasia. I also identified, implemented, and managed LearnUpon LMS. I established a style guide to update public technical documentation with the Technical Support Team. I advised the product team on in-product wording and client use cases based upon my experience in training.

Nonprofit Database Consultant

I identified client needs for database structure, reporting requirements, and donor communications. I analyzed customer data to determine the method of import. I then trained individual clients on how to use NeonCRM via web, phone, and in-person consultation. Concurrently, I managed the creation of a fleet of customer education videos. 

Durham Literacy Center (2013 – 2016)

GED Program Coordinator & Lead Instructor

I taught 5 multi-level classes in the Durham County Detention Center each week. I increased compliance with data collection requirements by periodically testing students. I also supervised and mentored an instructor new to education.

  • 77.3% of post-tested students improved their standardized test score by at least one grade level
  • Implemented a diagnostic system to decrease the time between testing students and providing targeted instruction 

NC Literacy Corps Americorps Service Member

I recruited, oriented, and managed over 100 volunteers. I identified 210+ students’ diverse educational needs and paired them with volunteer tutors. I also taught students using an Orton-Gillingham approach and the STAR Toolkit.
