About Me
Education
I am a current candidate for a Master’s in Educational Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship (MEITE) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill set to graduate in the Summer of 2023. Before starting my journey through the MEITE program, I received my Bachelors in Middle Childhood Education, with specializations in Math and Science, from the University of Dayton. From there, I began my teaching path; first starting as a long-term substitute in Wickliffe, Ohio. From there I set to expand my worldview on education by teaching English abroad in Changwon, South Korea and Madrid, Spain. These polarized cultures were purposefully selected to give me an expansive view on the needs of both teachers and students that spans without borders.
Work
I brought these experiences back to the United States as I began my work as a 7th grade science teacher in Wake Forest, North Carolina. I have continued to teach and foster my knowledge on how to transform the classroom into one that meets the needs of all educators and students while starting my work in the MEITE program. Through continuous planning, data collection, and implementation of the latest research from the science of learning field I have been able to foster an enriching learning environment with proven results.
I also had the privilege to work for Dr. Kelly Ryoo on several grant projects during my time with UNC Chapel Hill. One project of highlight that I worked on was the Iterative Design to Engage All (IDEA) Learners Institute. In conjunction with Dr. Ryoo and the Center for Public Engagement with Science, we created and presented Professional Development for educators across North Carolina with the mission of:
Using emerging PFAS research as a foundation, the IDEA Learners program will build the capacity of STEM teachers to engage ALL learners and cultivate a diverse biomedical workforce.

This year I have also been interning for MetaMetrics where I have gained skills in developing a product for MVP launch. I have helped author lessons, create user flow charts, and wireframes through an iterative design process to create an extremely intuitive, innovative, and engaging platform for learners. I have also created video-based lessons that meld adult learning theories with multimedia research to create an engaging and informative platform to educate teachers and other stakeholders of the new foundational reading tools that MetaMetrics recently launched.
Personal
Outside of my educational and work experiences, I spend my time doing hobbies and hanging out with friends and family. I have friends and family across the United States and abroad, and I enjoy any opportunity to travel and spend time with them. Although, I most enjoy spending time outdoors with my husband either hiking, paddleboarding, or playing fetch with our goldendoodle, Murphy.
