Comparing Videos – Alan Dang

They all do a very good job of conveying their stance. Through the use of visual examples, they do all do a good job of keeping my interest and explaining their subject. The background music also fits in to that specific video or scene. The first 2 video showed a lot of clips from shows and movies while the later 2 videos showed mostly pictures.

The first video does a great job of listing the types of black women role in media, explaining each role, and giving examples of them so we can better actually see it.

The 2nd video does a great job of showing us the adaptations of Little Women and how they all compare to each other. Then focusing mainly on the modern adaptation and how even though it’s a bit different to the rest, it still conveys the message brilliantly with it’s own twist at the end.

The 3rd video added really chill background music to fit in with the musical identity of Frank Ocean’s music and story telling. They also gave us sound samples and a bit of audio interview.

The 4th video background music fits into the spooky theme of disturbing paintings and by showing us these spooky paintings. It then does a great job of explaining the history behind disturbing paintings.

Good is subjective but they were all “good” to me. I believe they are good because they kept me interested throughout the whole video and explained their stance very well. Each of the narrator’s voices were also nice to listen to.
