Video Versus Traditional Essay – Alan Dang

It first I thought video essays were better than traditional essays in every way but the more I thought about this, the more I realize that not essay should/can be a video essay. I love video essays because they allow you to see examples or better understand a subject. They keep me more engaged in the subject by having someone tell me and show me about it instead of me reading long pages by myself. Video essays are great but the time making them, finding clips, voice recording, editing, and copy right laws makes it a pain to deal with. Video essays help the audience understand things better but there’s no huge benefit for the creator. I still believe that video essays are legitimate academic work because it’s still an essay but in the form of a video. They probably put more work into the video due to the things I listed above than if they just wrote a regular essay.
