Parody & Satire- Harrison Ferone

I found a parody of the song Higher Love on YouTube titled, “The Publix Sub Song.” The song is a parody of the original Winwood version, but the artist changes the lyrics to talk about how much they love Publix subs. It is very funny because the contrast from the original song is quite significant. Instead of Winwood calling for the world to come together via a “higher love,” this artist puts Publix sub on the same pedestal. It doesn’t comment on the original song, but still undeniably uses how profound the song was to create a humorous juxtaposition.
