For this post, I will be reacting to this skit called “The Art Museum” performed by the Saturday Night Live cast. I chose this because I am discussing an art remix for my final video project and this is related to the genre. The video is a satire because in the skit the actors are exposing and criticizing people’s stupidity as each of the characters takes their turn stepping up to an art piece and making a comment about it. I think this skit was meant to comment on the lack of respect and appreciation for art as a whole. It is an exaggeration, but not too far off from what you might hear at an actual museum. I think it is successful, in the way it commits to many different perspectives and viewpoints. Each character comments on the piece in an entirely different way, but it results in the same outcome (them not fully appreciating it).
