Streaming and DRM

I feel like streaming has been positive for DRM because it allows for a broader range of places for the media to be viewed. There’s less incentive to pirate media when there’s a wider access range to it. This is not to say that people still won’t try to copy it nor that it’s more difficult to copy this way because in the age of the internet people can easily find ways to copy movies, songs, etc. Just take the many sketchy websites to watch movies for free for example. I think it’s still important to own the media nonetheless because you still want to receive credit and pay for your work which you won’t if you don’t have ownership of it. Lastly, I think DRM has a positive impact on remixing and sampling because it hinders direct editing of pieces and there are stipulations on how remixing and sampling can be done which is protective of the original creator.
