Jai – Close Reading/YT Thumbnail

This thumbnail comes from the channel that produced the “Death of the Author”  YouTube video we watched on Wednesday. One thing that stands out to me about this channel’s thumbnails is how they still require a well-thought out coordination with the title. The creator generates very strong & captivating titles for her videos and it makes me feel even more compelled to watch. The picture she uses of the crying woman, facedown on the ground, coupled with the quote “IT’S A LOT.” shifts my mind into ‘I need to know more’ mode and makes me aware that this video will be teaching me something important that I didn’t know before. It also was engaging to take my eyes away from the 58:57 timestamp which would have otherwise made me want to search for a shorter video.
