In my opinion, I don’t think the video essay could replace the general essay in all the other classes. The situation could be separate to art class and science class.

Take some basic art course like history as an example, for such kind of course which need huge amount of background knowledge learning, using video essay would be better than the traditional essay. Because it will be benefit for both visual leaner and auditory learning.

However, for the science course like math class. We have lots of formulas, and all the knowledge would be more based on logic. Thus, for these kinds of courses, it would be more suitable to use the traditional essay cause the traditional essay would be easier to have clear logical line and show the knowledge clearly.
