Song Sample: Ruchi Patel

The song Beggin’ by Madcon was sampled from original song, Beggin’ by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Madcon’s version realized in 2007, while the oringial released in 1967, 40 years prior. While although both songs are titled the same and have a similar intro, after listening to both, the uniqueness that results from it is the ability to create a timely number. For example, the original sounds that it would come from the 60s while Madcon’s version is fitting for the time period with stronger emphasis on  the specific fitting instruments of the time. I think they used this specific sample to put their own twist on for a modernized piece, one that although has its own path, pays homage to the original. Using this particular sample allowed Madcon to use the aspects that they loved about the original song and turn it into their own version to then share with everyone else.
