Streaming and DRM: LdR

I think streaming positively impacts DRM if the technology to prevent piracy is fair and effective. With streaming artists and studios are able to reach a larger audience than they would if they distributed their art from physical copies. However, with their art being online, it is easier to copy or download to redistribute. That’s where an effective and fair anti-piracy technology needs to be developed, because then owning music/movies/tv will be useful to determine how the owner gets their credit. To make DRM fair and effective there needs to be clear guidelines on how to remix/sample art so that the original product is still protected. Streaming allows more opportunities for remix/sampling, which is a good thing, but there needs to be a clear threshold to an original product and a new product.
