I think that the statement itself is flawed because I don’t think it is possible to have a perfect reproduction of a work of art. I do agree that a reproduction of art is no longer unique, but it does have a place in time in space as a new type of aura. I don’t believe with mechanical reproduction the aura withers away, the aura changes and adapts and potentially develops a new one.
