YouTube Thumbnail Reflection – Yiran Xiao
My topic is mainly talking about the uniqueness of KPOP music and how it is different from other western hip pop music in music tracks, lyrics, and production of music videos. Therefore, in order to attract people who like KPOP and are curious about this area, I tried to make the overall background bright and clear. I used a light yellow color as the wallpaper to make a contrast with my other pictures on top. As KPOP music becomes increasingly popular in North America, more people are becoming interested in it. Such examples are BTS, NCT, and BLACKPINK which have millions of followers on social media platforms. I chose these three specifically because they have an enormous group of fans who support them. I also added a stick man with question mark in the center to show the query or doubt about KPOP music. This will intrigue fans’ curiosity and ambition to prove that the group they like is the best. The entertainment companies are on the right side because they are the main producer of the music and music videos.
In order to better approach this thumbnail, I think maybe I can search up for some lyrics and clips of music videos to make the content seems more bountiful and intriguing. I could also have taken a picture of myself frowning and question about why KPOP enters the North American markets and brings a good result. This might appeal more people to click my videos. Another possible approach is to only show one of the members from BTS since they are the most influential KPOP representers. In this way, it will not only accord with my content, but also have a good effect on audiences.
