Would you change our current copyright laws? Why or why not? (details in video)

After reading the Lessig introduction, I think copyright laws could be made more simple. While I don’t feel I have a full understanding of all copyright laws, the ones described in the examples seem sort of vague. It also seems like those not causing real problems are also affected by copyright laws, such as independent artists like Girl Talk. I think copyright laws need to be made more clear in an increasingly digital age where it is so common to remix or sample from other work. It seems these laws are too strict and often suppress creativity.
