About Me

Hey there! I’m Ebenezer Amare, and welcome to my blog site, a place for you to get to know me from diverse angles. A fervent Christian, my purpose is to spread God’s word to all people. My mission is to develop low-cost regenerative medicine that impacts minority and lower-income communities in the US and globally. I currently pursue this in the NIH National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences through the mentorship of Dr. David Castellano.

I was born and grew up in Alexandria, VA, with my two parents. My immigrant family raised me and my two younger brothers (6&16) in the Ethiopian Evangelical Church. My favorite home dish is Injera with Doro Wot, a chicken stew.

My upbringing, internal drive, and the ADC Access Program inform my decision to establish a sustainable healthcare system in my war-stricken homeland. As EESA exec, I’m organizing a Habesha Alum in Healthcare Panel to guide me and others.

I love to go on nature walks after all the time spent sitting in the library, and I’ve gone to the gym since a HS sophomore, back when I had health problems. My current SBD total is 815 lbs: Squat max = 275 lbs; Bench max = 225 lbs; Deadlift max = 315 lbs.

The philosophy I have discovered to be most compatible with the realities of this world and an all-power, all-knowing, all-loving God is one that acknowledges the meaningless of Earthly struggles for riches, fame, or to make a difference as the communities we aim to impact and riches we store will fade away. We can rightfully be joyful in the salvation we can receive as those who were made in his image as our Heavenly Father loved u so much that he sent his blameless son to take the rightful punishment of out sins – death – so that we could have eternal life. He gave us the capacity to grow as individuals and innovate towards a more ideal future – this is what makes us human.

Ecclesiastes 2:22-24

22 What do mortals get from all the toil and strain with which they toil under the sun? 23 For all their days are full of pain, and their work is a vexation; even at night their minds do not rest. This also is vanity.

24 There is nothing better for mortals than to eat and drink, and find enjoyment in their toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God;
