Title: Machine learning/neural network for medical image analysis

Abstract: In this study, we specifically examine using automated region of interest detection on melanocytic skin tumor Whole Slide Images(WSIs) using specific pre-existing CNNs and MIL frameworks in order to find which methods are most effective for this particular use case. Our paper advances understanding of the construction of machine learning pipelines utilizing datasets of small size with large images given the scarcity of accessible melanocytic skin tumor WSIs. We are currently experimenting with ResNet, ViT, HIPT, and CTransPath as feature extractors along with CLAM for classification, and will continue to evaluate other methods to determine the optimal combination.
